Chess- Super Saturday! December 9th

CHESS - Super Saturday is December 9th!

Some of our chess kids - especially the younger ones - may need additional training to keep pace with our lessons.  How about a fun, one-day class about the basics of chess, taught by the Grandfather of Wisconsin Chess, Bob Patterson Sumwaldt??

The WSCF is holding a special SUPER SATURDAY at McKinley Elementary School in Wauwatosa on December 9th. Students will learn the basics of chess including beginning strategy, the beginning mating patterns, and other basic rules and practices of chess. Students will participate in a 4 round Swiss style tournament. All students will receive a medal and the top 3 players will receive trophies. Participants must be in grades 2 - 8 and are asked to bring a lunch, snack, and water bottle.

  • McKinley Elementary School, Wauwatosa
  • 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Cost is $20 per student

Lessons offered - in your home

McKinley Chess Parents -
After almost 20 years of leading and instructing chess within scholastic programs in Muskego and Wauwatosa, I've decided to again offer private lessons to McKinley kids who want to learn - or to improve - their game.
During class, we are able to show the kids some things, and if they use ChessKid.com between classes, some kids can learn a good amount of chess.  However, for kids who really love chess and want to take their game to the next level, there is nothing better than personalized training.
In these sessions - one hour either in your home or my Pasadena neighborhood home - I provide lessons over the board where the kid can really focus on THEIR unique strengths and weaknesses.  It's a great way for them to improve!  Rates are $30 per session at my home or $35 at yours.

Please email me at
